John Palin website redesign. Give quality produce a proper showcase.

Good products deserve better than an underwhelming website. The John Palin website redesign gave an established wholesale business a sharper online presence, with a design that put its produce in the spotlight and better reflected its branding.

The
Challenge

John Palin (Wholesale) Ltd supplies fresh fruit, vegetables, salads, bakery and deli products across the Midlands. Our brief covered the website redesign and taking over its hosting. We got into the work with the customer and built something we’re proud to put our name to.

The brief. Let the quality come through.

John Palin wanted a website that represented the business more effectively, with greater emphasis on the quality of its produce.

We worked closely with the customer to establish the direction. A wholesale website needs to help buyers understand the offer, while giving the products a presentation that makes them worth a closer look. The design has to support both.

Our
Approach

Product photography that earns its place

John Palin supplied strong imagery, giving our designers the material to bring the produce into the foreground.

Good photography can do a lot of the talking. Colour, texture and presentation give a visitor something tangible to assess, so the layout needs to make room for them. We wanted the imagery to carry weight within the design rather than disappear into the background.

That’s where design judgement matters. Having good photographs is the starting point. Using them properly is part of the craft.

John Palin website redesign, with a clearer layout

We developed a modern website with a more considered layout, bringing the company’s branding and product presentation together.

For a business with different product categories, the organisation needs to help people understand what’s available. A visitor should be able to get a feel for the supplier without working through a muddled presentation.

We care about those decisions because they shape the first impression. The website carries the customer’s name and ours, and we want both represented properly.

Responsive design beyond the desktop

The finished website was responsive for mobile and tablet use.

Buyers don’t always research a supplier from a desk. The presentation needs to hold together on a smaller screen, with content people can read and navigate comfortably. That deserves attention during the design, rather than being treated as an afterthought.

Hosting behind the finished website

We also took over John Palin’s website hosting, bringing that responsibility alongside the redesign.

A website needs somewhere to run as well as a design worth looking at. Including hosting in the brief gave the customer one team involved in both parts of the project.

The
Results

The finished work

John Palin received a refreshed, responsive website with stronger product presentation. The original case study also reported improved conversion rates and search rankings compared with the previous site.

Those outcomes were recorded without numerical figures. We’re proud of the finished work and the thinking that went into it.

Your products deserve a better first impression.

If the quality is there but the website isn’t showing it, let’s get into the brief. Bring us what makes your business worth choosing. We’ll bring the design expertise to help you put it on show.
