Northern HV
HV and LV commissioning explained plainly enough to win the enquiry.
The
Challenge
Northern HV are a specialist high and low voltage electrical engineering company, launched in 2021 and working across the UK and Scandinavia. Transformer builds, substation construction, switchgear installation, commissioning and maintenance, for clients in renewables, utilities, infrastructure, oil and gas, data centres and private networks.
The work is highly technical and the clients are serious. But the people who decide whether Northern HV get on a tender list are not always engineers, and the old site assumed they were.
The job was to explain HV and LV commissioning plainly enough that a procurement lead can understand it, without dumbing it down to the point where an engineer stops trusting it.
Key challenges
Technical work, mixed audience
Engineers and procurement teams read the same pages and need different things from them.
A young company, serious clients
Launched in 2021 and already delivering internationally. The site had to carry that without overclaiming.
Breadth of service
Transformers, substations, switchgear, commissioning and maintenance all needed their own clear positioning.
Proving capability remotely
Most enquiries start with someone reading the site before any conversation happens.

Our
Approach
We built a new site around the services rather than the company history, with each discipline getting its own page and its own plain-English explanation of what is involved and what it delivers.
Project and sector coverage sits alongside it, so a visitor from renewables or from data centres can see work in their own field rather than a generic list.
The approach
Service-led structure
A page per discipline, written so a non-engineer can follow it and an engineer can still respect it.
Sector evidence
Renewables, utilities, infrastructure, oil and gas, data centres and private networks each visible, so prospects find themselves on the site.
Search groundwork
Built around the commissioning and HV engineering terms buyers use, with the technical depth search engines need to classify the pages properly.
The
Results
Northern HV now have a site that does the first half of the sales conversation for them, and holds up when a client in renewables or data centres is comparing suppliers.
The team add projects and news themselves, which matters in a sector where a recent reference is often the thing that wins the next job.
Outcomes
Technical work, explained
HV and LV commissioning described plainly enough to win the enquiry from a non-technical reader.
Credibility from the first screen
The scale of the work and the calibre of the clients land before a visitor has scrolled.
Each sector served
Renewables through to data centres, each with its own route into the site.
Owned by the team
Projects and news go up in-house, so the site stays current between jobs.
